Auburn’s Bass Fishing Club wins first place in the 18th annual BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship, presented by Bass Pro Shops. Two hundred of the most elite collegiate teams competed for two days in Anderson, SC.
Tucker Smith and Hayden Marbut “reeled” in first place with 35.24 pounds of bass over the course of the event. Carson-Newman University came in second place with 33.47 pounds, and Emmanuel College came in third with 32.50 pounds.
Along with bringing home this year’s National Champs title, Auburn will also bring home a $5,000 cash prize, $500 Garmin Tournament Rewards bonus, and a $1,000 ACA logo contingency.
