Executive Director, Biggio Center

Asim Ali, Executive Director of the Biggio Center, shared that balancing job demands with wellness starts by making workouts a priority rather than treating them as optional. Taking advantage of the convenience of training at the Wellness Center and working with a personal trainer has helped him use his time efficiently, while built-in accountability ensures consistency, because when someone is expecting you, you show up.

In addition to regular workouts, he incorporates small daily practices such as staying hydrated, mainly drinking water or coffee while avoiding sugary beverages, and being intentional about his breathing throughout the day. These simple habits help him remain calm, clear-headed, and energized in a role that requires frequent decision-making and sustained cognitive focus.

Since committing to his wellness routine, particularly through personal training, he has noticed greater focus, steadier energy levels, and improved clarity in his decision-making at work. Although he once believed that carving out time for exercise would detract from his professional and family responsibilities, he has found the opposite to be true; investing in his health has increased his energy and motivation for both, allowing him to be more present, productive, and better equipped to maintain his current pace of life.

His advice to others is simple: “No one will care more about your health than you do. That means you must prioritize it. If you consistently make time for your well-being, others will respect that boundary. Start small, stay consistent, and focus on progress rather than perfection. Wellness isn’t about a dramatic overhaul. It’s about steady, intentional investment in yourself.”
