Club Overview
Women’s Lacrosse is one of the most competitive club sports at Auburn. With tryouts happening in September, they start their season early, with practices and games set to last through the whole academic year. In this year’s case, into summer. They start with interest meetings and open practices, moving into a three-day tryout, and host their first team practice the following week. Their schedule consists of practices on Monday and Wednesday from 4:15-6 p.m. and Thursdays from 6:15-8 p.m.
This year, they started early by competing in a Fall Tournament in late October. This did not count towards their record, but it did help them see what areas they needed to clean up in practices before the spring. This year, Women’s Lacrosse Club won AU Involve's Club Sports Team of the Year. They even participated in philanthropic events throughout the year, including making dog toys for the Care Humane Society and hosting a few fundraising tournaments.

Season Overview
The team travelled to multiple tournaments, playing other club lacrosse teams throughout the south. They started the season by playing in the Big Dawg tournament in Georgia, where they faced UGA, Michigan, and Baylor (1-2). They then hosted schools like FSU, Clemson, and Alabama (2-1), travelled to North Carolina to play Northeastern, UNC, and Virginia Tech (2-1), competed in the Florida tournament against Florida and UCF (0-2), and ended their season by hosting their senior weekend against South Carolina and Vanderbilt, winning both of these games for a senior sweep.
They finished their regular season 7-6, earning their way into the Southeastern Women's Lacrosse League (SWLL) Tournament by qualifying and even getting to host. They won all three games in the SWLL tournament, sending them to Naples, Florida. The girls are excited and eager to compete and are looking forward to playing together one last time this season.

Highlights
One of the team’s favorite parts of Women’s Club Lacrosse is the relationships and memories that they built throughout the season. Many players mentioned that traveling to places like Arizona, Denver, Gainesville, and Naples gave them some of their favorite memories. These long trips helped turned their teammates into their best friends. By spending flights, hotel stays, and four-day tournaments together, they created a bonding experience that went far beyond practices and games.
Players also shared that winning the SWLL Tournament and beating teams like Clemson in the championship and Florida with a game-winning goal were unforgettable moments because they represented years of hard work finally paying off.
Beyond competition, most girls said club lacrosse became the best part of their Auburn experience because it gave them lifelong friendships, pushed them out of their comfort zones, and provided a strong support system. For several players, the team became like a family, creating a close-knit environment where everyone uplifted each other both on and off the field. Club lacrosse gave them not only the chance to continue playing the sport they love, but also memories and friendships that will last long after graduation.

Challenges
One of the biggest challenges for players on the Women’s Club Lacrosse team is balancing everything that comes with being part of such a competitive sport. Between classes, homework, practices, games, and traveling for tournaments, it can feel like there are never enough hours in the day. College can be overwhelming, and adding club lacrosse on top of that makes time management even more important.
Many players mentioned that learning how to stay organized and prioritize responsibilities was one of the hardest parts of the experience. Some also talked about the pressure of holding leadership positions, being involved in other organizations, and still trying to make time for friends and family outside of the team.
Even though it can be stressful, many said these challenges helped them grow by teaching them discipline, responsibility, and how to make the most of their time. In the end, the hard work makes the experience even more meaningful.

Lasting Advice
A common piece of advice from upperclassmen was simple: just go for it. Many said they wished they had joined sooner instead of being nervous about tryouts or doubting themselves. Putting yourself out there can be intimidating, but they shared that joining Women’s Club Lacrosse ended up being one of the best parts of their college experience. They encouraged younger players to take chances, stay confident, and not let fear hold them back.
College goes by faster than expected, so they stressed the importance of enjoying every moment and fully committing to the experience. Beyond the competition and success on the field, they said the friendships, memories, and personal growth are what matter most.
Their biggest advice was to work hard, trust yourself, and make the most of every opportunity. Many said the friendships formed on this team would last a lifetime and become one of the most meaningful parts of their college experience. Their advice was to trust the process, do things that scare you, and go all in because the memories and people you gain will be worth it.

Women’s Club Lacrosse is much more than just a club sport at Auburn. To these girls, it is a family, a support system, and a major part of the college experience. From long practices and weekend travel to championship wins and unforgettable team trips, the team creates lasting memories.
The time commitment and balance between school and lacrosse can be challenging, but this program gives players the opportunity to continue competing at a high level while also building confidence, leadership, and lifelong relationships. It is clear that for these players, joining AULAX was not just about playing lacrosse, it was about finding their people and making Auburn feel more like home.
Be Well, Auburn.
